Description
The Behringer SX3040 V2 Sonic Exciter (often called the Behringer Sonic Exciter SX3040) is a budget-friendly, 2-channel rack‑mount stereo sound‑enhancement processor designed to add sparkle and depth to audio sources — especially useful in studios, live rigs, broadcast, and hi‑fi setups.
Key Features
Stereo dual‑channel processor
Each channel offers two effects: a high-frequency Sonic Exciter and a low-frequency Bass Processor. You can individually bypass either channel or use both in stereo
Sonic Exciter section
-
Tune (1.2–11 kHz approx.) selects the frequency where harmonic enhancement begins
-
Harmonics controls the amount of added high-frequency harmonics
-
Mix blends the effected signal with the original
This section creates clarity and “air” in vocals, instruments, and mixes by synthesizing harmonics without increasing peak levels
Bass Processor section
-
Drive controls compression/sustain intensity for bass frequencies
-
Tune (50–160 Hz) determines which bass frequencies are enhanced
-
Mix blends this processed bass with the original signal
It thickens and tightens low-end content (e.g., kick, bass guitar) using compression and phase alignment
